From the American Gem Society:

The American Gem Society has announced the 2014 Circle of Distinction Honorees, who will be recognized at the Society’s Circle of Distinction Dinner on July 29 at the historic Plaza Hotel in New York City.

The recipient of the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award is Lee Berg, CEO of Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry. The Triple Zero Award recipients are Doug Hucker, CEO of the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) and Joel Schechter, CEO, HONORA, a Division of Richline Group. […]

“The 2014 recipients are outstanding professionals and individuals, and are well-deserving of this honor,” said Ruth Batson, CEO of the American Gem Society and AGS Laboratories. “The contribution they have made throughout their career to the jewelry industry is significant. […] Joel has volunteered with numerous organizations in the industry, and is a shining example of leadership through volunteer service. Congratulations to all three.”

Richline is honored to celebrate the Triple Zero Award received by Honora EVP, Joel Schechter at the Plaza Hotel in New York City on July 29th, 2014. This award acknowledges Schechter’s achievements at Honora over the past 38 years as well as his tireless work on behalf of the jewelry industry.

The Triple Zero Award, which is inspired by the highest grade a diamond can receive from the American Gem Society, was established to recognize members of the jewelry industry for their accomplishments and contributions. “Being recognized alongside Doug Hucker and Lee Berg was a true honor,” says Schechter. “The members of the American Gem Society have been an essential part of Honora’s success ever since my father first started the business back in 1946. It was a gift to receive this award from a group that continues to play such vital role in the growth of our company and our industry.”
